I have worked with blogs before, but this is the first time I use a wiki to keep in touch with my students. Help me make it work!!!

As I told you in class, due to time constraints, we will skip some "optional" pages from the textbook. However, I would like to recommend that you read the material at home. Here are the pages we are to consider optional:

- Unit 1: Reading, pages 8 and 9

- Unit 2: The preview, pages 14 and 15 and lesson 2 (gammar/ pages 18 and 19)

- Unit 3 : Lesson 2/ pages 30 and 31 and the writing on page 36

Today we finished page 7 . We worked on adjectives to describe personality types.

Today we covered pages 10 and 11. We discussed life-changing experiences and shared significant moments in our lives.

Homework: Write a paragraph about a life-changing experience you have had. (Step 4 - page 11)

Summit – Prime 1- The paragraph.ppt

The goal of this class was to introduce the idea of a well-developed paragraph and its basic elements: a topic sentence, supporting sentences and a concluding sentence. After brainstorming ideas on 3 personality types, pairs of students chose one topic and wrote a paragraph about it.

August 23 and 24

I had some some problems with the internet last week and I ended up not writing anything about the last classes.

We are now in unit 2 and we've talked a lot about music and creativity. Beethoven was the theme of week. The group learned new adjectives to describe this eccentric musician! Today we talked about music therapy and saw the video teachers Evaristo and Beto recorded about creativity. The video is available here in "unit 2".

Homework: Write a paragraph about a creative person you know. Please look at Step 3, writing - page 21

September 6 

More money talk! We discussed financial goals and analyzed future structures (page 28).

September 13 and 15

We discussed spending habits and charity this week. Our group is very generous and we enjoy helping others. Monise, for example, told us about her experience telling stories to children at a charity organization. We worked a lot on vocabulary and we used the attached presentation to review and practice target expressions.

Homework: page 33, step 3. writing. Make sure you use the new vocabulary!
